MS Works holds Cold In-Place

CMS Works holds Cold In-Place Recycling and Soil Stabilization Technology Workshop

Kuching, Monday, June 18, 2012 – A two-day workshop was organised by CMS Works Sdn Bhd from 14-15 June 2012 at Damai Beach Resort with over 131 participants comprising of engineers and technicians from CMS Roads, CMS Pavement Tech, PPES Works, Jabatan Kerja Raya, MIDCOM, DBKU, HCM, MPP and MBKS took part in the Workshop. The objective of the Workshop was to impart the knowledge and skills required to undertake comprehensive and systemic Cold In-Place Recycling and Soil Stabilisation Technology application in Sarawak.

Mr Walter Gruber, Product Manager Recycling from Wirtgen GmbH started the session with his presentation on Cold In-Place Recycling. A recycling application specialist, Mr Gruber has vast experience in recycling materials for pavement application and his knowledge and contribution in the road industry is well recognised globally and he has also contributed tremendously in the initial stage of developing the Cold and Hot In-Place Recycling application in Malaysia.

The morning session continued with a presentation on Soil Stabilisation by General Manager of CMS Pavement Tech, Mr Teo Khing Tnia whilst in the afternoon session, participants were introduced to Mr Pok Sum Loong, Managing Director, Wirtgen (M) Sdn Bhd, an experienced pavement engineer who presented on Paver Technology & Sensor Devices.

Head of Construction & Road Maintenance SBU, Mr Lim Jit Yaw thanked the Director of JKR Sarawak, Ir. Zuraimi bin Hj Sabki for his presence and support as well as the speakers and participants for their excellent presentations and contribution to the discussions.

Day one ended with a barbeque dinner before they continued with team-building activities for CMS participants on the second day.
